Makeup Faves, Motives, Brief Update

Hi everyone, I'm back! It's been a while... Things have been pretty busy on my end and a lot has transpired over the course of my hiatus from Philovesochic. The months of absence have made me realize, however, that I love sharing my tips and tricks with all of you! I have new everyday makeup favourites to show you and also a little announcement, AND a brief update on my life (not that you'd be so interested in the latter :-P). Without further ado... let's jump into it!

HAZEL'S PHILOVESOCHIC-APPROVED EVERYDAY MAKEUP FAVOURITES (in no particular order)

1). Foundations: Motives Custom Blend Foundation & Laura Mercier Candleglow Soft Luminous Foundation

For everyday wear, these two are my current go-to foundations. With that said, I'd like to announce that I recently became a brand consultant/individual distributor for Motives Cosmetics! I'm working with my now-fiancé and some of our other partners on a really cool online platform e-commerce business. I will talk more about it later in this post :-). Stay tuned.
This Motives Custom Blend foundation gives me life. I can't say enough good things about it. As the name suggests, I had the foundation MADE specifically to match my skin tone and type. One of our partners, who is a Motives Custom Blend Specialist actually manually mixed the ingredients and colours  for the foundation to match my skin (thanks, Arthur!). Now, if you'd like to get your hands on one of these Motives foundations, you gotta go through people like us :-). I will explain in further detail how you can order your own.
One of these days I would love to do a full review on the foundation, but I really hate making promises I can't keep... so we'll have to see!

2). Bronzer: Two Faced Chocolate Soleil Matte Bronzing Powder

Sorry about the unattractive pan-hit! It's clearly well-loved.
The shade I have is Chocolate. These bronzing powders are known for their chocolate scent. I was pretty intrigued when I first got it, but became indifferent overtime. What matters more to me is its performance on my skin. Long review short, I love this bronzer, I love the colour also. Sometimes I find it a bit tricky to find a nice, deep, matte brown bronzer to suit my light olive skin tone without making me look orange and burnt.

3). Highlighters: BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector (Pressed) in Champagne Pop and Rose Quartz

Hands down, BECCA's SSP in Champagne Pop is the best highlighter I've ever tried (good job Becca and Jaclyn Hill!). I've gotten so many compliments when wearing it. I returned the Hourglass Ambient Lighting palette for this single highlighter. Enough said.
Rose Quartz is more subtle, albeit very pretty and demure. It was limited edition, so I'm not sure if it's still available at Sephora.

4). Concealer: YSL Touche Éclat

I wouldn't really call this concealer as its main purpose is NOT to conceal, but rather to "highlight" and give more dimension to the face. At the moment, I don't have that many acne spots or trouble areas to conceal, aside from a few red marks here and there that are EASILY alleviated by the Motives foundation. So for the most part, I use this to lighten up darker and hyperpigmented areas and give my face a matte, subtle highlight.

5). Mascara: Guerlain Maxi Lash So Volume

At first, I was super hesitant to purchase this mascara due to the hefty price tag. I am a loyal user of drugstore mascaras because they work just as well as a lot of the high-end ones I've tried (go Maybelline!). I had previously tried a sample of Guerlain Cils d'Enfer Maxi Lash, but my mother successfully convinced me to also give this one a go. I'm loving it so far! It's very black and undoubtedly gives me long, luscious, volumized lashes, and lasts all day.

OK, so as I've mentioned above, I recently joined to become a brand consultant/distributor for Motives Cosmetics. I will do a separate post for a mini review and an explanation on how you can purchase their products. They are not sold in physical stores, so you would need to go through individual distributors such as myself :-). Motives Cosmetics works in partnership with Shop.com, which is supported by Market America. Shop.com gives you the opportunity to EARN CASH as you shop (who wouldn't like that?). Essentially, every time you shop online through our online platform, Shop.com, you earn cash back! My fiancé, Jonathan, is actually one of the shop consultants, so if you click on any of the above links to Shop.com, it will connect you to his "store". Feel free to check out the gazillions of stores such as Sephora, The Bay, and brands such as Michael Kors and Kate Spade to name a few, that participate on this platform.

On a much more joyful note, I am getting married!! Jonathan proposed on April Fools' of this year and we are getting married on April Fools' next year! :-). Here is a sneak peek of our engagement photos:

I'm sure I will be much busier once I get married, but I will try to keep the blog going to the best of my ability!

I'm going to end this post here as I think it's already way too long for one. I'll see you all on my next post! Stay tuned for simple home tips and tricks! :-) In the meantime, if you have any questions about Motives and/or my new venture, feel free to leave me a comment or contact me on whatever social medium you have me on.

Until then, take care!!
